Process & Capability
Application Development - Silicon Standard understands that customer’s requirements are as unique as customer’s company. We want to find the solution for customer’s application issue or problem. We are constantly looking to find ways to apply our technology, experience and products to provide the most effective solution that is cost efficient and tailored specifically for customer’s application.
Design - After conferring with customer’s design team, Silicon Standard designers will analyze needs and consult with our engineers on an initial design review. A project manager will be assigned to follow the procedure from concept to delivery. The design process includes:
- Chemistry Selection; we can choose from Li-Ion/Polymer, NiMH, and lead acid.
- Smart battery electronics such as SMBUS, CAN Bus, J-Bus, Fuel Gauges, Battery Management IC programming.
- Plastic and mechanical part design.
- Consultation with engineering.
- Full documentation of design process.
Electronics
Silicon Standard develops Battery Management Systems (BMS) software in-house. We have full, in-house electronic control systems, engineering and development capabilities. We use computer-aided design (CAD) tools for schematic capture and PCB layout for electronic module development, reduce waste and time-to-market.
Prototyping
Silicon Standard has rapid prototyping capabilities for the creation of fast working models, which are applied in the development and testing of prototype systems. We are capable of modeling custom-designed components at different stages of development and use these as models for tooling. We operate modular, fully equipped assembly lines for prototype, development and, low-volume projects. We include integration of full quality audits throughout the prototypes system assembly process to assure product integrity and compliance to strict operational standards.
Testing
Silicon Standard always put our products to the test. Every product is rigorously tested for compliance with industry standards and qualifications.
- Multiple battery pack test stations including battery cycles and environmental chambers (temperature and humidity) for complete testing and evaluation of battery systems.
- Full validation capabilities for customers’ solution applications in addition to in-house design process validation.
- Detailed analysis of software, hardware and, environmental requirements for each solution application.
- Fully equipped to test the products before they are integrated into the final application.
- Full testing capabilities to qualify product electrically, mechanically and environmentally.
